for permanent resident alien and non-voter applicants).
HOMESTEAD: Certificate of Trust (required for some applicants when property is held by a Trust). Note: This form is only required if submitted in lieu of a copy of the actual, executed trust agreement.

SENIOR'S HOMESTEAD: Senior Citizen Homestead
Exemption (Form DR-501SC).
SENIOR'S HOMESTEAD: IRS Form 4506 - Required for some Senior Homestead Exemptions.

$5,000 VETERAN'S DISABILITY EXEMPTION: No specific application form required. Submit a copy of

HOMESTEAD PORTABILITY: Application to Transfer Homestead Assessment Difference (Form DR-501T) . IMPORTANT: This form is an application to transfer your Save Our Homes benefit to a new homesteaded property. You MUST also file for a homestead exemption on the new property.
"GRANNY FLAT": Application for Assessment Reduction for New Construction for Parent(s) or Grandparent(s).

You are NOT required to file any notice IF you have recorded a deed documenting the change of ownership.

VALUE ISSUES: THE DEADLINE FOR FILING ALL 2009 VALUATION PETITIONS HAS CLOSED. ALL PETITIONS WERE REQUIRED TO HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AT THE VALUE ADJUSTMENT BOARD OFFICE BY THE SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 DEADLINE. ANYONE SEEKING TO FILE A PETITION AFTER THE SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 DEADLINE MUST CONTACT THE VAB DIRECTLY (SEE ABOVE) FOR FILING INSTRUCTIONS.
EXEMPTIONS: The statutory application deadline for 2009 is CLOSED. All applications for 2010 EXEMPTIONS should be filed by the March 10, 2010 timely filing deadline (but, in no instance, be filed after the September 20, 2010 TRIM Notice appeal deadline)! There is no longer any VAB "late petition" or $15 filing fee requirement for exemption applications if filed by the September deadline.

PETITIONS TO CHALLENGE 2009 VALUE ASSESSMENTS:
You may file a petition to challenge your proposed 2009 assessment any time after the TRIM Notices are mailed in mid-August. The statutory deadline to timely file a 2009 value petition was September 18, 2009.
The VAB is NOT accepting any additional Tax Year-2009 petitions without a proper showing of good cause (with documentation) for missing the deadline. Contact the VAB directly (see above) for details on good cause late filing.
Petition to Challenge Value Assessments and Value Good Cause Request (DR-486A Form) - Note: This form is used for valuation challenges for both real property and tangible personal property. Check the appropriate box for either "Real Property Value" or "Tangible Personal Property Value." This form is also used to request GOOD CAUSE to late file if you missed the September 18, 2009, deadline.
